Big Spring Tour 2011 Announcement

2011 has been a wild year so far!  I’d like to give a shout out to all my new friends in Brazil, Cuba, Texas, and the southern-most tip of New Jersey.  With all this bouncing around, I hope you have been keeping up with my travels.  For the best updates, stay tuned to the TWITTER & FACEBOOK – i’ve realized that’s more my speed.  And if you have been staying tuned, you have already seen some of these incredible dates coming up this Spring.  The band and I are expanding our tour!  Check out the highlights below, and the entire tour with complete info on the official website TOUR PAGE.
 
 
Shows with Brazilian artist Denise Reis in the US
I’ve had some incredible adventures already this year, not least of which was spending a month performing in Brazil.  I didn’t want my fellow American countryfolk to miss out – so I decided to bring some Brazil back with me…  I am beyond excited to announce a couple of shows with Brazilian artist Denise Reis in NYC (at Joe’s Pub) and in Philadelphia (at World Cafe Live).  We will be bringing the show that we did in Rio, expanding on it, and performing these very special shows in May.  We will be collaborating on each others’ music, complete with my full band, special guests and even joining forces on some surprise familiar tunes.  These shows will be unlike anything I’ve done so far, and I hope you can join me for one of these nights.

Four Hands On Deck Tour with songwriter JENNINGS
At the end of April, I’ll be making some stops down south for my first shows in Baltimore, Raleigh, Gainesvilles, and Nashville.  I’ll be on tour with good friend and fellow songwriter Jennings, sharing a piano and a car for some really unique shows.  It will be nice to head south to some new cities, and I’m expecting some killer fried chicken along the way.
 
 
Sunday at The KIMMEL CENTER
More: the band and I have been invited to appear as part of The Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, with a special 2 hour performance at the beautiful Kimmel Center, which will be dramatically transformed into 20th century Paris.  The transformation of the Plaza includes an 81-foot light-bulb-filled Eiffel Tower reaching for the sky as trains and planes zoom overhead.  French wine tastings, French lessons and French food accompany the performance.  Fun, no?

What Happens In Brazil…

It’s a beautiful 65 degrees today here in Yardley, PA.  I mean, it’s no 90-degrees-on-the-beaches-of-Rio, but i’ll take it.   It’s great to be back in the states with some renewed energy and great new ideas. This is going to be a knock-out year, and I can’t wait to roll out all the exciting events.

Brazil Tour 2011
Brazil was an absolutely incredible experience.  This has long been a dream of mine, and I never could have expected I would end up playing 8 shows in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.  Hopefully, you were following my adventures on Twitter and Facebook.  My blogging got a little side-blogged.  Blogging is hard!  But I was keeping track of everything. Fly Me To Brazil

I can already tell you what one of my 2011 highlights will be, and if you have been following along on The Twitter and The Facebook, you know what it is, too.  I leave later this week to spend a month in Brazil!  I am taking some time to find a little inspiration in the birthplace of Bossa Nova, meeting new people, learning new songs and performing a few shows.  (Trust me, I will fit some beach time in there somewhere.)  I’ll be splitting my time between Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro.  I can’t tell you how excited I am to return to Brazil and to play my first ever international shows!  Check out the dates on the tour page, including some updated upcoming US dates, and stay tuned right here to The Blog.  I’ll be updating it from Brazil to keep you posted on all my adventures down there.
