What a great email to kick off 2016:
“Hello Avi,
On behalf of the Songwriters’ Association of Washington DC, I’m pleased to inform you that your song, SKY BLUE SKY has been awarded FINALIST in the Vocal Jazz/Blues category of the 32nd Mid-Atlantic Song Contest.
Congratulations!
See you at the Awards Gala at Jammin Java on January 17!”
In the infamous words of early Renaissance poet Sir Mix-A-Lot: you get sprung. And Spring has got me totally Sprung. I’ve got so much great news and tons of exciting adventures to last you all the live-long May. I’m a songwriting contest finalist, I’m recording in Brazil, AND i’m coming to see you.
I’m packing up my piano and getting ready for my East Coast tour, which starts TONIGHT in Brooklyn. I’ll be performing in living rooms, sight-seeing in Nashville, kazooing at the Eden Kazoo Factory, and i hope to see you along the way! RSVP for the show nearest you, or just follow my roadtrip adventures online (on TW, FB, IG) because that’s what social media is for.
I’m really excited to be getting back to writing and recording and creating and driving and performing this year, so stay connected on the Facebook & Twitter & Instagram machines for the latest posts and pictures from the road. Do you have recommendations for things to do/see/eat while i’m hanging out in your town? Leave a comment and let me know! And be sure to share my travel destinations with your friends in other cities – it’s always nice to meet friends-of-friends in new places.
