Big Spring Tour 2011 Announcement
If that’s not enough for you, i’ve got even more coming your way in April and May. So get those kazoos in hand, come out and see some live music. The weather’s just fine (or at least it will be, damn it).
It may not be as warm as Texas and Brazil, but it is definitely beautiful here at the southern-most tip of New Jersey. Come out tonight for this free show in a grand, cozy room, playing some songs from my album, new covers and a few new Brazilian tunes…

It was great to come back from Brazil and collaborate with my good friend Shawn Fogel in NYC and Philly. An instrument-swapping, foot-stomping good time! Of course, I had to flee the country the very next day. So, where did I go off to this time? Cuba. I just got back from a humanitarian aid trip to the island. Based on US-Cuban relations right now (and for the last 50 years), you have to be very careful what you say and where you go. But come see me and talk to me after a show, I’d love to tell you about it. It was VERY interesting. The bottom line: I’m back and on the grid, and ready to hit the ground running… all the way to TEXAS!
SxSW 2011 Performance Schedule
The band and I have been heading down to Austin for the past 2 years for the South By SouthWest Music Festival. This festival is the biggest music conference in the country, with every band and their grandmothers descending on Texas for a week of music, BBQ, and business-card swapping. With 6 shows over 5 days, this year promises to be our biggest yet. Check out the list below and spread the word to anyone you know who might be down in Austin for the week. As always, i’ll be blogging and tweeting all our crazy adventures, so stay tuned.

Viva la revolución!
It’s a beautiful 65 degrees today here in Yardley, PA. I mean, it’s no 90-degrees-on-the-beaches-of-Rio, but i’ll take it. It’s great to be back in the states with some renewed energy and great new ideas. This is going to be a knock-out year, and I can’t wait to roll out all the exciting events.
Brazil Tour 2011
Brazil was an absolutely incredible experience. This has long been a dream of mine, and I never could have expected I would end up playing 8 shows in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Hopefully, you were following my adventures on Twitter and Facebook. My blogging got a little side-blogged. Blogging is hard! But I was keeping track of everything. So over the next few days, I’ll be posting all my stories, and pictures, and videos to the blog to catch you up – you can see the first few posts there now. In the meantime, check out these great videos, care of my good buddy Denise Reis…

Beijos.
I can already tell you what one of my 2011 highlights will be, and if you have been following along on The Twitter and The Facebook, you know what it is, too. I leave later this week to spend a month in Brazil! I am taking some time to find a little inspiration in the birthplace of Bossa Nova, meeting new people, learning new songs and performing a few shows. (Trust me, I will fit some beach time in there somewhere.) I’ll be splitting my time between Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro. I can’t tell you how excited I am to return to Brazil and to play my first ever international shows! Check out the dates on the tour page, including some updated upcoming US dates, and stay tuned right here to The Blog. I’ll be updating it from Brazil to keep you posted on all my adventures down there.
I have also added some new stuff to the website. Recent updates include the brand new Avi Wisnia Webstore where you can buy the new album, Tshirts, kazoos, etc. You can also check the Gallery for new pics, radio interviews, and videos. Poke around, there’s more.
Ok, tchau everyone! I will be thinking about all you East Coasters under the snow while I’m lying on the beach in Rio 😉
