Free Williamsburg is covering the BBQ Block Party!
The Make Music New York Solstice Celebration continues into the evening with the Sixth Annual Make Music NY Williamsburgers & Wieners BBQ Block Party in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The party, hosted by Avi Wisnia, features musical performances and special collaborations from an eclectic array of NYC artists and friends. The event is held in the garden patio of Cyn Lounge, so that the music spills out onto the sidewalk, and the dancing onto the street. FREE Burgers & Dogs are available (while supplies last), with drink specials all day long (21+, at the inside bar).
Avi Wisnia performs at 6:00pm.

Let me cut right to it: the band and I will be performing at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC this week, opening for jazz legend Arturo Sandoval! We have been invited to take the famed stage as part of a special benefit concert for Voices Against Brain Cancer. Tickets are still available, but a little pricey… So if you can’t join us for the momentous performance event, perhaps you can join us the next day, when I perform at the NYC American Folk Art Museum for FREE, or in Philadelphia on Saturday.
I’m hitting the road again this summer to bring the music to you, wherever you are. Two outdoor fests in Bethlehem PA, a clothing-optional one in West Virginia, and the return to California’s Garlic Capital! Check the full concert calendar at www.aviwisnia.com/tour for some summer fun in the sun.
Summer Tour, This Week’s Highlights:
NYC: Hammerstein Ballroom – THURS, June 14 @ 6:00pm
NYC: American Folk Art Museum – FRI, June 15 @ 5:30pm
PHILLY: Kennett Flash – SAT, June 16 @ 8:00pm
So, how did I end up in Idaho? A good friend of mine asked me to help him move his stuff from NYC to San Francisco. 13 states and a few thousand miles later, a giant dust storm welcomed us into Boise. Don’t worry, I’ve been web-journaling the whole thing, and I’ll post you the link as soon as I make it live in California. In the meantime, you can see some of our escapades, which I’ve been posting to Twitter. I have not been doing any shows on this cross-country road trip, but I have certainly been taking notes of the great venues I’ve seen and heard about. I have been saving myself for Summer Music Festival Season, which swings into full effect starting this month.
As I drive coast to coast, I’m compiling the Best Roadtrip Playlist Ever. Have a good song suggestion?
